Science Communication - SciComm

Talking about the work of scientists to a wider audience is hard. There are layers of details and complexity that are essential to understanding the science but often video makers don’t want to deal with details and complexity. But at Fourth Line Films, we take those realities seriously and we aim to communicate about the science in ways that are both accurate and relatable. We’ve worked with the American Association for the Advancement of Science on a number of projects that take complicated ideas and introduce them to a new audience in a way that is both interesting and compelling.

Is there anything more difficult than talking about race, science, and power? It took us several years but finally we created this 30 minute documentary with AAAS.

This was a fun short video we did as an add-on from an interview with one of the world’s premiere neurologists. What started as a prompt, “What do you guys talk about late at night in a bar” turned into this reflection on the existential question, “What Is Me?”
